To remain healthy and independent, seniors need access to quality medical care. That's why we opened the Harold & Jane Hirsh Health Center -- a medical practice that specializes in primary geriatric care -- to help you preserve your health and to provide rehabilitative services. The Hirsh Health Center is located on the Terrace Level of Ring House, and is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

- Primary care appointments with physicians
- Medical receptionists and licensed nurses to assist you
- Physical and occupational therapy services
- Appointments with visiting specialists, generally including Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Audiology, in the adjacent Wellness Center, and referrals to a wide variety of specialists nearby
- After-hours and weekend coverage for medical emergencies through our answering service (for established patients only)
- Medicare and most major insurance plans accepted
Tips for New Patients
- Call us at 301.816.5004 to schedule your initial appointment, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Ask your current physician to have your medical records transferred. Ideally, records should arrive in time for your first visit.
- Arrive about 15 minutes early for your first appointment to complete necessary paperwork.
- Bring all medications with you for our nurse or physician to review.
- Come prepared for a lengthy first visit, with time for a detailed history, possible blood work and/or EKG.
- We encourage family members to accompany patients to appointments and to participate in the care process.
Tips for Current Patients
- To reach the physician on call for after-hours medical emergencies, please call at 301.251.8168. Hirsh Health Center patients are referred to Suburban Hospital Urgent Care Center on Rockville Pike or to Suburban Hospital for after-hours (emergency) care.
- To renew a prescription, call our office at 301.816.5004 to request a refill at least seven days prior to taking the last pill/dose. If you use a mail order pharmacy, please notify us two to three weeks in advance.
